Your Garden is only as good as the soil you plant it in!

Why do some people seem to have a green thumb and no matter what they plant whether it’s tomato’s or wave petunias everything seems to flourish. They know that the pH of soil, amount of organic matter and moisture content is the secret.

Ideally a rich black loam & compost mix (Garden Mix) is the secret.  Our seasons have become extremely dry and sandy or clay soil problems can become exaggerated.  By adding Compost it will improve the quality of your soil as well as hold what moisture the garden is provided.  Environmentally friendly products have proven time and time again to produce great results.

Heck, our Grandparents already know that and their generation have certainly proven it because it was a big part of feeding their large families whether it was a back yard garden or the garden on the farm.  It’s still very important to gardeners today planting vegetable gardens that their produce be free of chemicals and pesticides.  This can be best achieved by utilizing organic compost. It’s great for both your health and the environment.   You just have to rotivate compost into your vegetable garden once a year spring or fall and Voila!

It’s also good to put a couple of inches on existing flower/shrub beds or to sprinkle on your lawn in the spring.  Happy plants are healthy plants.  Use compost and make your gardening easier and more rewarding.  Remember if your bounty is plenty that Plant a Row Grow a Row is always accepting donations at Lemieux Composting 764 Black Road to be forwarded to our local soup kitchen so all can enjoy.
