The Gardener’s Secret!

Our Organic Compost is excellent to mix into existing gardens, rotivate into vegetable gardens and top dress lawns or existing gardens.
Compost helps improve sandy or clay soils.

Why do gardeners rave about this “Black Gold” so much? Compost is a bit like a super food, a tonic and a medicine for all your gardening needs.

The benefits of compost:
  • Maintains healthy soil.

  • It can be used to rejuvenate old compost.
  • Useful as mulch and to cover for the winter rhubarb, roses, etc.
  • Used in outhouses to break down waste and help eliminate odour.

There’s no such thing as too much compost!

Garden Mix

Garden Mix
For Lawns:
We suggest at least 2” of our Garden Mix to seed or sod a lawn.  This will allow the roots to stay in the good stuff.  There is no need to add peat moss or fertilizer, it is ready to plant.  The material is screened so it is clean and easy to rake out.  Beware - you will be mowing the lawn in no time!

For Flowerbeds, Shrubs and Trees:

Our mix is very simple - just plant; no need to add anything! Make sure to go deeper for perennials and shrubs than you have to for annuals. I always plant in the Garden Mix and then in the future top the beds in the spring with an inch or two of pure organic compost. Compost helps through the dry season for the beds that you are unable to water and rely on Mother Nature.

Gardener’s have commented on how lush and large my perennials are. Now you know my secret. Every time it does rain it makes compost tea to the root systems. One lady commented on the Lady’s Mantle growing around my office. Her comment was that she has never seen them grow that big. I have never had to add anything else.

Containers seem to dry out quickly from the sun and wind so the only way to keep moisture is to add at least half of the container of compost and watch them bloom.

Our specialty is giving everyone a green thumb for vegetable gardens. It is very important to know what you are planting in and that it is organic. No chemical fertilizers or pesticides needed. We suggest our Garden Mix.No fertilizers, peat moss or manure. You can add extra compost for plants like tomatoes, pumpkins, strawberries, rhubarb, cucumbers etc. For maintenance in future years we suggest rotovating organic compost every spring.
It's that easy!
